WHO AM I?

I am Natalie Baca, a wife, a momma, an artist and a designer.  I left my fashion background when I picked up an art brush in 2002.  While somewhat artistic, I never had formal art training and most of what I do has been self-taught through experimentation.  I am a big fan of color and texture and you can find that throughout my works.

I've had much success with my art.  In 2008, I was a featured artist on HGTV.  In 2013, I won an art contest where Jessica Simpson chose a design to be printed on shirts for Macy's and Dillard's.  I have been featured in numerous publications, including national magazines.  Today, I currently paint in my free time and license some of my designs with DENY Designs, a home furnishings company that transforms my art into everyday items.  They have placed my works in places like Target, Urban Outfitters, and Nordstorm's.   God has blessed me with such success and am grateful everyday for these opportunities.  I certainly would not have gotten here without His help.

In 2014, I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease, Hashimoto's.  This lead me down a homeopathic path to health.  I began to explore and research how and why I got this and it lead me to an organic Paleo style diet and lead me into essential oils for extra help and support.  I am striving for a toxic free home and lifestyle for my family too.

Fast forward again to 2017 and I am just now able to talk about this disease aloud and am just now able to share my feelings about it.  My art has been therapy to my feelings of frustration with Hashimoto's and I am so glad that I have that as an outlet.  I have been on an art journey for awhile and now I am adding health to that journey.  This blog is about all of these things and more!  Won't you join me for the ride?

Natalie
