Natalie Baca Wins Jessica Simpson Design Contest

Jessica and Ashlee Simpson Debut a Tee Shirt Design That Gives Back

El Paso, TX – April 2013 – Natalie Baca, a local mosaic artist and mixed media painter, designed a tee shirt that was chosen by Jessica Simpson, her sister Ashlee Simpson and Baby Buggy ™ founder Jessica Seinfeld.  This event will bring national attention to Baca and her design.

The sisters teamed up with the charity Baby Buggy ™ to launch a special tee shirt that gives back.  They announced the tee shirt design contest last year and Baca entered the contest using the image of one of her paintings.  The winning design is a colorful heart motif that Baca had painted using acrylics and collage papers.  100% of proceeds of the tee shirt will be donated directly to the nonprofit, which provides needy families with necessities for infants and children up to age 12.

Baca discovered the contest through Jessica’s twitter account.  “I asked myself what my little girl would like on a tee shirt and after much thought, I submitted a painting that I had made with six mixed media hearts."

Natalie Baca began as a mosaic artist and later expanded into mixed media painting.  She was featured on HGTV’s “That’s Clever” show and has won awards for her work.  Baca shows her work locally at the Hal Marcus Gallery, at The Pink Cottage and also sells online in her Etsy store.

“Winning the contest has been a dream come true.   I am so very proud to be connected with the effort of helping those in need.”

The tee shirt is available in children’s sizes S-XL and will retail for $20.00 at Macy’s.
